Malton Fesival 2026
Here’s the short I shared on YouTube on the day:
What a day it was! Beautiful sunshine, hot... exactly what you want for an outdoor event.
There were three markets: the food market familiar from previous Food Festivals, Saturday’s Food, Artisan and Greengrocers market, and Finkle Street’s Local Traders Market.
Derek Fox was serving some absolutely gorgeous burgers outside, while Pizza On The Square also had food and drinks available outside. In fact, it really felt as though all of Malton was involved.
For the kids, there was a funfair, plus crazy golf and bouncy castle.
There was also a brass band early on, followed by a Blondie tribute artist later.
To my mind, the only thing that let the event down was a lack of advertising. It was listed on the Visit Malton website, but not on their Facebook page. In terms of social media coverage, it seemed to be left largely to those involved, like myself.
A map showing where the various events were taking place would also have been helpful. While I was working my stall, someone mentioned they had expected the indoor craft event to be in the Milton Rooms, only to find the doors locked.
That said, this was the first Malton Festival since the Food Festivals were cancelled, so a few teething problems are to be expected. From what I saw, Saturday was a huge success.
I wasn’t there on Sunday, and the weather was somewhat miserable, but I hope all went well for the Taylor Swift tribute artist and everyone running stalls, the funfair, and the rest of the event that day.
